Fast Five – Raphaël Willet

Posted by VerboliaSeptember 1, 2021

For the 8th issue of its Fast Five interview series, Verbolia is pleased to welcome Raphaël Willet, SEO expert and founder of StratFlag, an innovative collaborative tool that allows you to create a digital strategy from different sources of keyword suggestions. StratFlag is actually the first tool in the world to combine both SEO and SEA management on a single platform. During the interview, Raphaël Willet, shared with us some first-hand insights he has acquired during his long and successful journey in the SEO industry.

1) What was your first SEO project, and how did it go?

Back when poker was very fashionable, I had 300 game boxes imported from Asia into my father-in-law’s basement.

I had only 12 pre-orders! So I learned SEO as fast as possible to sell my goods. It still took me 8 months to get there but this experience gave me a taste for google referencing 😉

2) What are the main challenges of SEO in 2021 ?

As digitalization is booming, finding opportunities for topics, writing and optimizing them quickly are in my opinion one of the most important challenges in SEO.

I am therefore listening to all solutions that allow me to develop unique quality content quickly to get a head start.

3) What is your favourite SEO software ?

My favorite tool is the one I took 2 years to develop called StratFlag.

This tool allows you to combine SEO and SEA on a single platform in order to control your visibility and the costs of paid campaigns.

StratFlag is also a content strategy software developed on the basis of collective intelligence. This approach allows the creation of qualitative content for referencing in record time by inviting the right skills (internal or external) at the right time, whatever your size of business.

4) What is the most common SEO mistake you see people making?

I see too many SEO specialists working in isolation on technical off-page SEO tasks. I think it’s appropriate to remember that SEO tasks are meant to highlight the best possible content produced. The SEO specialist must therefore be part of an editorial committee and work in collaboration with the SEA specialist to avoid cannibalization of keyword positioning.

5) What is a typical low-hanging fruit optimization to make in SEO for e-commerce?

A centralization of information as well as a good exploitation of its product catalog is, in my opinion, the best way to make its e-commerce shine. To achieve this, I recommend the use of a PIM (Product Information Management) software in combination with an SEO tool such as Verbolia to generate a multitude of product variations to cover the long tail.
